Even 1″ of flooding in your home can cause $7,800!! Unreal.
You have many options today in purchasing Insurance. On the phone, internet, mail, or through an agent are some of the ways available. They each have their pros and cons. One thing to consider is the value you receive from each method.
A local agent offers some advantages that are missing in the other channels. They should be your personal consultant to help you get the best insurance value and coverages for the protection you need. A professional agent offers you choices and explains what they mean. Insurance can be complex and difficult to understand. Your agent should be able to explain so that you are comfortable with it.
Choosing an Agent
Choosing an agent who cares about your needs can make a tremendous difference in your experience with insurance. There are certain qualities you should look for;
* The Agent should be licensed with strong customer ties.
* He should be active in the community. This is his home and he should care enough to be involved.
* Your agent should be reachable. Do they return your calls? Do they get you answers to your questions? If they don’t, you should consider if that is really who you want representing you.
* They should offer one stop shopping for all your insurance product needs.
* Your agent should give excellent service and assist you if you have a claim.
* Periodically your agent should review your coverage to be certain it is still protecting what you want protected. Is your current agent doing this?
* They should treat you like a person, not a number.

HIKING GORP (no processed sugar)
2 cups raisins

1 cup Chinese noodles
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Mix together in a ziplock and take along on car rides, camping, hiking, just going to the beach. You can also add other dried fruits and nuts.
Comprehensive and Collision: Collision coverage pays for damage to your vehicle, after the deductible that you choose, when the accident is your fault or the other driver is uninsured.
Comprehensive protects your vehicle in situations like broken windshields, fire, theft of the vehicle, falling objects, riots, storms, collision with a bird or animal, earthquake or floods.
Again, this payment is after the deductible that you choose. In most cases the deductible is $500, $750, or $1,000 but there are other deductibles available.
The higher the deductible you choose, the lower your premium. You should choose a deductible that you would be able to pay if an accident or comprehensive claim happens.
Collision Plus/Loss of Use: This coverage helps you with expenses you incurred after an accident due to a collision or comprehensive loss.
It is usually expressed as $30 or $50 per day and is paid for the number of days your vehicle is in the shop.
It can be used to rent a car or to offset your deductible.

Medical: This coverage pays for medical and funeral expenses, up to the limit you select, for you or a passenger while riding in your vehicle.
It also covers you or a family member when you are riding in someone else’s vehicle or on foot and struck by a vehicle.
Normal levels of coverage for this option are usually $1,000, $2,000 or $5,000. Other levels are available. If you are driving the vehicle and you have an accident that is your fault this is the only coverage in your policy for your individual medical expenses.
It would not be covered under liability as you cannot be liable to yourself.
